533 - 2nd April 1992 ******************** AUTOZAP RUN 7013/NEW BACNAT FOR GSM 7.0 (UNIX) ************************************************************** Autozap Run 7013 ---------------- This is a monthly run of autozaps which contains all zaps since run 7012. The diskette contains a number of recovery programs which may be required by the following zaps: 1. Purchase Ledger 7.0 zap 8 and 9 - PLEEC 2. Payroll 6.0A zap 52 - PRACC 3. Sales Analysis 6.1 zap 18 - SDRBLD. Refer to the zap descriptions for further information on running the above programs. To re-iterate Reseller Bulletin 532; a problem may occur in Payroll end of year. The problem is that the NI information may be excluded from the P60s. If this occurs then run the program PREYF (included on the autozap diskette) and reprint the P60s. Sales Analysis zap 17 was excluded from previous runs - 7010 and 7011 - due to problems found in the repackages. One of the repackages, SN550- part A of zap 17 is included on this diskette. The other components will not be released. The corrections will be made for version 6.2. New BACNAT GSM 7.0 (Unix) ------------------------- A new release of the BACNAT for Global System Manager 7.0 (Unix) on the RS/6000 running AIX (CV5524) is now available. This BACNAT contains a fix for a severe problem which causes random ++++++ file corruption and random file deletion on large systems when more than 250 file channels are in-use. The problem was present on all Global System Manager 7.0 (Unix) implementations, but has been fixed as new BACNAT's have been released. By inspecting the version of the BACNAT you will be able to determine whether a particular system includes the bug. All BACNAT's between version 3.1 and 3.32 contain the bug. All BACNAT's with a version number higher than 3.32 include the fixed component. The file $GLDIR/sys/version is a Unix text file which contains the "BACNAT version" as well as the individual versions of all the C sources that were used during that particular repackage. To determine the version of an installed GSM (Unix) system use the following Unix command:- head -20 $GLDIR/sys/version For versions of BACNAT prior to V3.45 this will result in the following:- /**************************************************** /* /* Copyright TIS Software ... /* /* Module ... /* /* Version ... /* /* Last change ... /* /* Current date ... /* /**************************************************** /* /* Date of package ... /* Description of package /* Version 3.nn ++++ For versions of BACNAT V3.45, and later, this will result in the following:- /**************************************************** /* /* Copyright TIS Software ... /* /* Module ... /* /* Version ... /* /* Last change ... /* /* Current date ... /* /**************************************************** /* --> s.vc2gm.ver Version 3.nn ++++ Versions of GSM (Unix) V3.45, and later, display the version number of the BACNAT when System Manager is loaded as follows:- "Configuring Systems Manager (BACNAT V3.nn); please wait..." If you are not using Version 3.45 or later we strongly suggest that a new BACNAT is ordered free of charge.
